These copy-and-paste letters are Unicode mathematical symbols, not a font. Screen readers may read them one symbol at a time, some apps and websites strip or replace them, and search engines will not match them to plain words. Do not use them for anything people must be able to search, read aloud or read with assistive technology, such as names on forms, email subjects or important instructions. For a real font, use the preview and PNG below.

This panel uses an actual font (UnifrakturMaguntia), so it is ordinary text that search, translation and screen readers handle normally. Use it for images, signs and prints.
Gothic to normal text
Paste text written in any of this siteโs gothic or script letters. Letters and bold digits become plain AโZ and 0โ9; everything else stays as it is.
Everything runs in your browser. What you type is not uploaded or saved. The copy-and-paste styles are Unicode symbols and the image uses a bundled blackletter font; neither needs an account.
Fraktur in one paragraph
Fraktur is one kind of blackletter. It became the most common German blackletter typeface by the mid-16th century, and people sometimes use โFrakturโ and โblackletterโ as if they meant the same thing. Unicode also has Fraktur letters, which is what the cards on this page copy.
Fraktur letters and plain text
Capital and small letters A to Z each have Fraktur and bold Fraktur versions. A few capitals, such as โญ, โ, โ, โ and โจ, live in an older Unicode block, so they may look slightly different from the rest on some devices. Use the converter below to turn any of them back into plain letters.
Common questions
What is the difference between Fraktur and bold Fraktur?

Can I turn Fraktur back into normal text?
Yes. Paste it into the Gothic to normal text box. Letters and bold digits return to plain AโZ and 0โ9.
Is Fraktur a font?
Fraktur is a style of lettering. The copy-and-paste Fraktur here is a set of Unicode symbols; the preview below uses an actual blackletter font.
